This is a poster series that tells the multi-year story of a son's desperate (but loving) attempt to preserve his father in the digital body of a chatbot. The chatbot seems to talk like his father but like any computationally-generated being, there's always an inevitable degree of distortion.
I worked with Jenni Lee on designing these prints for TEDxCMU's fall mini event. These posters suggest that the most brilliant discoveries don't always come from highly privileged or special people but from ordinary people who are passionate about an idea.
In his song "Why", rapper/songwriter NF talks about the influences of doubt and insecurity on his identity as an artist. I attemped to apply physical contort to the type in ways that would reflect his personal struggles with public perception and smothered aspirations.
Given the lecture series New & Noted, I designed a lecture series poster that reflected the series' mission to connect new and upcoming wrtiers with those in the greater Pittsburgh community.
